Hey Brides, so those of you that have already done some research, will know that bridal boutiques advise that you start your wedding dress shopping 12 to 18 months before your wedding day, but do you know why?
Well, it’s because that most designers will take anything from 4 to 8 months to produce your dress. On top of that, you will need to factor in alterations with a seamstress. Wedding dresses are made to a size, not to your exact body measurements, therefore your dress is most likely to need some tweaks, especially the length, to make it a perfect fit.
Your alterations will take approximately 6 weeks, sometimes longer depending on how busy the seamstress is and how much work you need doing, as it’s a careful step by step process.
Depending on your wedding date, we can also help with payment plans so that you can spread the cost to help with your budgeting.
So giving yourself plenty of time will make the experience a little less stressful. I know what your thinking, but what if I commit to a dress and then I change my mind? I promise, that is very unlikely to happen. When you fall in love with your wedding dress, its a different type of feeling from anything else and I promise you will still love it when you put it back on. Plus, we don’t do pushy sales here, you’re body language will tell us if it’s your dress or not!
